OLD System Information
This is an open repeater system available to all licensed amateur radio operators.
The repeater is a Motorola Micor UHF system with a 4 cavity duplexer system. It transmits approximately 40 watts of power to a DB-220 antenna. The antenna is fed with low-loss Heliax LDF4-50A coax cable. We are fortunate to have one of the highest spots in the county, giving the repeater great coverage.
We are using a MCC RC-1000 repeater controller.
Internet Linking
The KB8KGU repeater is connected to both IRLP and Echolink. Our IRLP node number is 3232 and our Echolink node number is 96620. The internet link machine is a Pentium 4 with IRLP version 3.0 board installed, and feeds into a GE MVS mobile radio for the link. The node runs the EchoIRLP software system to communicate with both IRLP and Echolink. Please see the Internet Linking instruction page for commands to use this feature.
Weather Information
This node uses the wonderful scripts from W0ANM to pull weather forecasts, weather alerts, and current weather information. Please see the repeater commands page for further details. If there is a weather alert in the area, the IRLP node will broadcast a message about an alert in progress. Pressing Star 3 will read the details of the alert.
